Lithium battery care and maintenance

Battery maintenance and maintenance mainly include the following aspects:

Charge up. Newly purchased lithium batteries require several complete charge and discharge cycles to activate battery performance. Use a special charger that matches the battery to charge, and unplug the charger in time after it is full to avoid overcharging.

Electrical discharge. Avoid frequent excessive discharge, charge in time, do not wait until the battery is running out of power to charge, avoid using the battery in high or low temperature environments.

Storage and use. Do not place the battery in a high temperature or cold environment, it is advisable to store the battery in a dry and cool place at a suitable temperature to avoid hitting the battery, and charge and discharge once a month to maintain the battery activity when it is not used for a long time.

Avoid metal contact. Keep the battery port away from metal conductive materials to avoid short circuit.

Avoid contact with moisture. Do not let the battery contact water or wet environment, so as not to cause motor and controller failure, shorten the battery life.

Avoid extreme temperatures. Avoid the battery in a high or low temperature environment for a long time, the best temperature is 15 to 35 degrees.

Charge and discharge regularly. If you do not use electric vehicles for a long time, you should charge and discharge the battery regularly, charge the battery to about 50% of the power every month, and then discharge it to about 10% within a month.

Balanced charging. If the battery pack is composed of multiple cells, use a professional lithium battery equalization charger to keep the voltage and power level of each cell consistent.

Make sure the BMS is working properly. Ensure that the battery management system (BMS) of the electric vehicle is in normal working condition to prevent overcharge, overdischarge, and other damage to the battery.
